Canned pumpkin purée is Low FODMAP at ⅓ cup (75g), moderate at ½ cup (105g) and high from about 128g, from its Fructans and GOS.
- Plain canned pumpkin purée is low at ⅓ cup (75g), turns moderate at ½ cup (105g) and is high at about 128g.
- Fructans set the limit, and GOS joins in at the larger amounts, so the purée reaches moderate sooner than fresh Kent pumpkin does.
- Pumpkin pie filling is a different product: it usually adds sweeteners and spices, so check the label.
In baking, divide the can across enough servings that each one gets about ⅓ cup (75g) or less.
