Barbecue (BBQ) Sauce
Tested serving
- About 2 tablespoons (40mL)
Barbecue sauce is Low FODMAP at about 2 tablespoons (40mL), enough for a glaze or a dipping portion.
- At about 2 tablespoons (40mL), no FODMAP group reaches a meaningful level, so a normal glaze sits low.
- Recipes vary, and onion, garlic, honey or high-fructose syrup in a sauce can change the picture, so check the label.
Brush on a thin layer rather than drowning the plate, and use garlic-infused oil and a splash of tamari for smoky flavor at home.
